The Partnership Manager – Asian Region

Curriki is seeking to fill the position of Partnership Manager – Asian Region.

About The Position

The Partnership Manager – Asian Region represents Curriki in East Asia, South-East Asia and South Asia. The position’s primary tasks include:

  • Manage Curriki’s implementation partnerships with local governments and NGOs:
    • Help to build institutional support for the partnership
    • Formalize the partnership via contracts, implementation plans and budgets
    • Provide support with technical issues such as installation and translation
    • Conduct training sessions for local user groups
  • Develop new implementation partnerships by responding to leads and promoting Curriki at regional meetings and events
  • Create or update internationally-focused marketing materials and user guides
  • Report to Curriki executives or board members on partnership development
The position’s secondary tasks include:

  • Develop relationships with potential corporate or institutional funding partners
  • Mobilize regional user communities to participate in the Curriki community
  • Provide development team with feedback on features that will support regional usage
  • Provide ease-of-use feedback and other development support
This position is offered on a freelance basis, averaging 20 hours/week, fees paid monthly. Compensation, which is based on skills and experience, is commensurate with similar positions within the International NGO community.

Web application Front-End Developer CSS Expert

Curriki is seeking to fill the position of Web application Front-End Developer CSS Expert.

About The Position

We’re seeking an experienced web application interface designer and front-end developer to help evolve and improve the usability and implementation of our open curriculum repository and community tool set.

We are looking for a contractor to work with us to design and implement enhancements and new features, and also improve and in some cases re-design elements of the existing application. Experience with and an interest in innovative dynamic web applications design, extensive CSS, HTML and prototyping skills, and a natural affinity for simple yet powerful user experiences are all important attributes of the successful candidate. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who is not happy until things are just right.

As a completely virtual organization, you will be expected to work remotely and independently, and must provide your own virtual office (hardware and software, phone, and broadband Internet access). You will also be expected to attend virtual meetings and be generally available via IM during core working hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, extend, and perfect the site and application style book and user interface library.
  • Work with the engineering team to construct and migrate to a well structured and documented style sheet, and build on and maintain the CSS code for the site.
  • Work with the design team to design user interfaces, construct prototypes, and then document final designs and styles for new features and modules.
  • Give user experience input to the design of current and new features and interfaces based on consistent and documented site design principles.
  • Assist editorial with support in producing custom HTML for editorial pages, wiki content resources, marketing pages, and HTML newsletters.
  • Assist the engineering team with the construction of new features by contributing to the front end page coding and refinement (particularly in the areas of style class tagging and interactions with the style sheet).
  • Research and promote useful design and user interface patterns and technologies with both the design and engineering teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five or more years experience in interactive design and/or web front-end development.
  • A rare balance of both technical knowledge and skills and creative design talent.
  • Exceptional CSS and style sheet development experience with the associated HTML and browser knowledge.
  • Specific experience styling/skinning JavaScript UI frameworks like EXTJS.
  • Ability to prototype, sketch, or mock-up ideas quickly and then refine based on diverse feedback.
  • An interest in Open Source software development and E-Learning technology desired but not required.
  • Ability to work within a distributed remote team and demonstrate strong work ethic.
  • Highly articulate with clear speaking and writing skills.
  • Availability up to 30 hours a week.
